At right, Mike Stevenson tries to keep up with Tom’s rapid-fire delivery. Hang in there, Mike.Past Commander Bret Olson is presented a long overdue plaque by Commander Tom Moore for his contribution to Post 365 as Commander during 2022-23. Thank you Bret for all your hard work.Paul Krueger gives his monthly history lesson: The month of July is named after Julius Ceasar, as is August after Augustus Ceasar. And if that isn’t enough to get you thinking – all that manipulation by the Ceasars led the month of October, which was originally the eight month to be kicked up to the 10th month. The Ceasars’ got their hands into everything (even Pizza). Also, on July 16, 1945 the first nuclear bomb was tested. A month later the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki brought an end to WWII.
You may have wondered what the 5Q F on Paul’s t-shirt represents. It was the number on his Grandfather’s plane in WWII.
1st Lt. Donald Krueger, 8th Army Air Forces, 339th Fighter Group out of Fowlmere, England flew 38 B-17 escort and search and destroy missions over Germany from late 1944 to early 1945. Earned 7 Air Medals and 4 confirmed Nazi aircraft destroyed. Also, Paul’s hero.
